The Journey

No book, instructor, and/or school of rescue contains all the answers. The journey of any practitioner will never end, and only through a career commitment and diligent practice does one start to get a glimpse of what it means to become a true expert of any topic. My work is a humble attempt to address a few areas of customer support as it applies to work access and rescue. During my career, much of my personal belief system and approach to rigging has evolved. The reality is that simplicity promotes efficiency, and, simplicity is indeed a complex issue. During my life as a rescue instructor I have been guilty at times of over-emphasizing complex rigging subjects that are rarely used and at the same time turning a blind eye to fundamental details of those same complex topics. I now attempt to refocus attention on the simplicity of rigging. Regardless if it is fire/rescue or industrial rescue, the needs of the client must always come first. -Rhodie-
